The Rare treat of sharing

today I was able to show the movies Dark City and The Crow to my friend Tiina for the first time. She likes them, and is glad she has finally seen them.

It is nice to share something so pretty and interesting with a friend...

I recommend it to everyone. Something new.

and yes, these two films have been on my list of favorites since I saw them in the Theatre...

Just remember, whenver you show Dark City to someone, cue the tape to start at the hotel room scene, skipping the intro voiceover bit.

The studio tacked that bit on, because the film was "too confusing" - but the voiceover gives far too much away and eliminates the sense of mystery...

the voiceover was important. She didn't want to see it for a long time because she was afraid of it. She thought it would be more like a Clive Barker film. She had actually started to watch it and turned it off half way thru the opening scene because it seemed so dark and creepy.

She loves it now. But there are other people that it will be cued properly for. ;) thanks!!

Thats like the voice-over, and non voice over "Blade Runner." I prefer the non voice over version, but always show the voice-over version to "newbies." Great double feature to show somebobdy. The Crow actually makes me tear up (I consider it to be a love story) and I thought Dark City was highly underrated.

I also think Pitch Black was both very good and highly underrated. (That opinion always got me the sideways eyeball whenever "the gang" would get together for coffee.) Anyway thats another I really like, and like introducing to people, but thats just one dekeboys opinion..

the next time you come to town and can visit *little ol me* you can introduce me to Pitch Black since I do not think I have ever seen it.
