so this whole web page thing is new to me. But I have a lot of pictures I want to put up on the web, however they are all way too large.. and some of them need a lot of tweaking.. and I need to make thumbnails... and and and...

sigh

and it's taking for freaking ever....

did I mention it's a LOT of pictures?

and oh yeah, I have NO idea how to make a real web page... so here is me trying to figure it all out with dreamweaver, which is not entirely intuitive....

as Thog would say....

*AXE*

Ack dreamweaver. I'm a believer in good old fashioned hand-crafted HTML. Longer a learning curve, but once I get moving in it, I can whip them pages out. I do almost all my LiveJournal entries that way. (And the stuff I do at work too!)

since all of our HTML books are in Olympia, and since I really do not have enough time to learn HTML right now...

I shall have to stick with doing the trial and error method on Dreamweaver, I suspect that I will have better luck than if I try to teach myself HTML with no tools.

mostly it just sucks to be me on this one. I am perfectly capable of figuring it out eventually, I just am annoyed that it is more difficult than it needs to be. I call it a usablity bug myself.

I hear you on the photoshop front. Making thumbnails and formatting photos is booooooring. Which reminds me, I have four masks worth of such to do this week. *sob*

you totally have my sympathy, I have a total of almost 200 pics to do... *sigh*... well ok so it's probably closer to 150 after I weed them out....

You're in it harder than I am right now, so I'll pull a yippy-skippy tennis move and toss that sympathy ball -right- back in your court, babe. ;) Good luck, and try not to pull your hair out.

I am not doing too badly, I am on picture #40 of the 100 odd pics from Prom and then it is clean up of the picnic shots, and coffee shots, and the miscellaneous other shots... but prom is the bulk of them.

And Spydr showed me how to do a batch of thumbnails at once, easily. :) So I guess it could be worse. Just gotta clean up the files...

Dahlink, if you'd care to draw up a conceptualization of what you want your pages to look like as far as layout goes, i'll help you code them. I didn't end up chairing an international guild of web designers and developers completely on my looks and charisma....

not completely but mostly?

Baby, you're the greatest. I will do so tonight and bring it to coffee tomorrow.

Well, the looks and charisma had to have -something- to do with it anyway.

Yeah, i look like everyone else on the internet- an overweight, balding mid-40s sweaty male who still lives at home and spends all day eating Doritos in his underwear in front of the computer. Hehehehehe!
Actually, it's my sunny disposition and always cheerful outlook on life, i'm sure. That or no one else would do the job (and i only did so after much kicking and screaming)....

Sweetie...darling...lover boo...It's been a couple years, but I tested some Macromedia stuff (Dreamweaver and drumbeat) and it wouldn't take much to get back to where I could help you out. On top of that I'm home all day, bored out of my skull...and I have Photoshop. If you need anything tweaked let me know. Put it on disk and I'll get it from you Sunday.
