Michael Montoure's entire catalog of writing is available for $0.99 (well, okay, the anthologies are $2.99) for Kindle, and since I still had some cash left on my gift card account I got everything I didn't already have.

Which is a little piece of happy.

Yes, I also have several of these books in print copies (and signed, because he's awesome like that). So what?

I think the sale ends on the 31st, so if you want to get some of his stuff, now is the time.

And if you aren't familiar with his stuff - He's one of my all time favorite horror writers. His writing is dark, beautiful, sensual, haunting, and glorious. I am sad that the migraine is making me miss his reading tomorrow evening (Wayward Coffee House, go see him). One of the last times I made it to one, his words alone almost made me pass out (seriously, the world was getting a little grey and swimmy, with a bit of tunneling - and yes, he knows this and it gave him enough happy that he had glee and did a little dance because that is a bit of a coup).

For a buck, treat yourself to something awesome. His books are certainly worth their full price.

Plus, he's an awesome guy. And a good friend.

Just woke up, thought you meant a BUNDLE for 99c, and was v confused when I couldn't find it!

Does he write supernatural horror, or person-on-person horror? (I prefer the former -- I've spent a lifetime reading both, but I've had less appetite for the latter as life has become more difficult.)

What would you recommend as a first book to get a taste of his style?

I agree with all the things you've said! He wrote one of my favorite short stories! I haven't read his stuff in quite some time... I sadly do not posses a reader. *sigh* Might be HIGH time I invested!

That's lovely news!!! <3 Do you have any idea if it works on phones at all... At least till I get some kind of a surface type device, I would use my phone more than anything. I'm still addicted to curling up with a good book, which can't really be done on my tower computer.

Search for kindle in the App Store for your phone, it will be there and for free. It exists for all devices.

Which phone? I use Calibre for ebook management between devices and FBReader for android. If you'd like to stick with amazon, they've got a reading app for it. (It's in the google play store.)

I have an Android. :) I find myself on the bus a lot during commute and I think reading would be better than working during that time. FBReader sounds interesting.
