so mine have been giving me hell lately...

So I am back on the higher vitamin dosage and the added Quercetin+ pills. Blah.

On the bright side, I am starting to feel a lot better. The down side is swallowing 4 enormous pills twice a day. BLEH...

Sinuses

I've had ongoing sinus problems since I was young that were made worse when I was in the service. Like you, I'm prone to killer infections that take over my whole body ad nothing seems to help...almost nothing. About 2 years ago I learned to drown myself...or, as I refer to it, snark out my nose. It's gross, it's discusting, it's something only a 10 year old boy would find amusing, but ohhhhh does it feel good. Put a couple tablespoons of non-iodized sea salt in a bowl of warm water and use a squeeze bulb to irrigate out the sinuses. It helps clear out all the mucous that's holding in the crap (pollen, dust, whatever) as well as kill the infection. It takes a bit of practice, but once you get it, it's great. Since I've started doing it I've only had 3 really bad infections in the last 2 years and 2 of those infections started because of something other than allergies. You have to do it at least 3 times a week to get any sort of relief and when you feel an infection coming on it's best to do it 2 times a day, every day, until it's cleared up. Best of all, it's natural, non-systematic so you don't have to deal with the drugs, and I have yet to meet anyone that it doesn't work for. I learned about it from the coolest doctor in the world, my old doc at the VA, who I had complete trust in (this is the doc who, when he saw the marks on my thighs, simply asked if it was consentual then wrote me a prescription for antibiotic cream).

heh...

I will bear this in mind.. but the idea os squirting stuff up my nose really weirds me out.

The Quercetin is doing wonders right now tho. I have only been prone to infections in the last year. I am not sure if it is the weather, or the number of allergens in the air these days or what...

Yeah, it is really weird, but it feels soooooo good. The problem with sinus infections is that once you get one, you'll always be prone to gettign them unless you do something drastic like having them scraped. I've never had it done myself, but having heard about the experience directly from someone who has, squirting salt water up one's nose is FAR preferable.
