for my lunch today

when I was young, and things stressed me out, I would go for a "walk". I would generally wander for an hour or 5, until I pushed through all the bullshit cycles in my head of angsty stress and made it to wandering thoughts. (you know the ones, the free associative type) Then I would go back. And on the way *back* I could look at what was stressing me out and find a way to deal with it.

So today at lunch, well I needed to go to the bank, and the video store anyway... so after I dropped off the movies I went to one of the last areas in the business district of Mercer Island that I hadn't explored. And I went to the pet store, and played with the kitties that live there and wander in the store. And I pre-bought some tummy/hairball treats for my cat, cause he is out. And I got a suprise for Spydr, cause I thought he might like it and I thought it was cute. Just something to brighten his day a little.

And then I went to the strip mall across the street from that one. And I bought vitamin e oil at the nutrition store, and ordered my vitamins. Wandered further up, and joined the birthday club at Finders, who sent me to another store even further up the hill... (more on that tomorrow, I got something else for Spydr there, and no clues on this stores goodies... Even the *name* is a give-away).

and then I realized I had about 15 mins to get back to the office...

so I finished going up the street, I dunno which is what, but it was definitely *up* hill, and turned left on 29th, walked 2 blocks east, a half block up, one more block east, a quarter of a block up and I made it back on time. *just*.

But I felt much better. I got things I *needed*. I got things done I needed to do. I got presents for someone I love. And I *walked*. I think it was probably a mile round trip.



Not a bad way to spend my lunch really. :)
