It looks like we will be able to start coordination on moving things out of her apartment. The soonest we will be doing this is tomorrow evening. The way that the FCBW is, I suspect it may not be before Wednesday so do not be surprised.

A lot of people have volunteered to help. I need to know a few things about that so I can make sure that everything gets done. If you really want to help somehow but are not specifically wanting to help with the moving of stuff part, we will have a lot of things to do for both the Memorial and the Wake later this month. There are a few other projects that Jessica had wanted to do and we are going to be working on getting them done. First things first, this is where we start.

The first part of the poll is really a “pick one”. You can not want to do this and not be able to deal. If you can’t deal with it, it is assumed that you *want* to, I am the only one that can see these results but everyone can vote.

The second part of the poll is choose all that apply. So if you have a truck and a drivers license as well, choose them both. If you only choose “I have a truck” then we may ask to borrow it with a licensed driver. ;)

[Poll #333495]

thanks. :D

My work schedule will be pretty flexible Wednesday-Friday, so taking a few hours off and making them up this weekend won't be a problem.

I would be able to cook breakfast for everyone but right now I'm at work at 7:30 am and I’m pretty sure that no one will be starting that early. One thing I thought you might have forgotten is that depending on how long the move takes you might need to feed the troop’s lunch too. If that's the case, I can cook up something at home and bring it to work with me that day for someone to pick up here. If there are any food allergies I would need to know as well as likes or dislikes. If it’s too much for someone to come downtown to get it there are always pizza coupons.

*hug* I'll do whatever I can to help out Sugar.

well, we are looking at feeding the troops lunch and/or dinner. right at the moment it is looking like we will be limited to work in the evenings really. The earliest we will start is afternoon.

I just saw I clicked the wrong thing in the moving part.

Also, I don't REALLY have a car, but can probably wheedle access to either of my parents Subaru station wagons.

You know I am there to help with ANYTHING you need.

I filled it oot when i realised there is a babysitting option...so, like you suggested Stax I should be able to provide kid-sittin for those southenders with kids 4 and up...ages under that would be difficult because I already have Drake (who's 4 months old) taking up my wee-one attentions. But older children are fine...i love kids and have mucho XP with em.

My time this week is kind of tricky, because I've (theoretically) got obligations a couple of nights, and I have to be in the office in Bellevue (rather than working at home as normal) at least twice and that has a history of screwing with other plans I've made. Just keep me informed, and I'll fit in whatever I can.

I will.

My only commitment is tomorrow from 1:30pm-3:30pm in Bellevue. Otherwise, I'm free. I'll keep from making plans as much as possible in order to stay flexible.

I'm good with either baby/kid action or cleaning/packing/moving action. I can also carpool people who want to help with various things but don't have transpo. I can drive as many as 3 other people at a time. Errands are also something I can do - from picking up needed supplies to driving paperwork around, I can find my way around and stay focused.

I have plenty of time to help coordinate/organise things. Feel free to give my # to anyone else involved in keeping things moving so that they can use me as they see fit.

Just put me where I can be useful, and I'll do all that I can. This won't stress me outside of what I can handle, no matter how much I'm given.

Just read the thread on SG, and more clearly saw the reference to helping with Memorial/Wake stuff. Many, many more skills can be put to use for that sort of thing. I have no idea what all to list - everything from my DTP skills to food prep comes to mind. You know about the variety of skills available from doing con stuff, so that's another consideration.

If there are planning conversations happening, I'm willing to be there and offer to pitch in wherever it makes sense.

I have a car that works for hauling boxes (sedan with spacious trunk). I work from 10-7, but could help afterwards since my evenings are a bit more flexible this week. I could help move stuff too, with the awareness that stairs and my ankles make a fairly unhappy combination :\

I would love to help in any way that I possibly can. However, I am limited on time because I am in school this quarter. I am also allergic to dust and heavy chemicals, so I probably can't clean well, but would like to help if needed. I can't move anything unfortunately since my chiropractor recently suggested not to move any heavy loads.
So, that leaves me down to driving (gas money would help a little), possible babysitting, possible cooking, and helping with the wake or memorial. Please let me know when you are doing these things so I can see if I have time!
Thank you for giving us all this opportunity. :D

I'd like to do this, and you're in luck- I'm on 100 day break between contracts at Microsoft.

The catch is that that this week, my daughter's at Vacation Bible School from 9 to noon, after which she's with me- though right now she's going to spend Wednesday afternoon with her mom (and might be able to stay a while later if I explain the circumstances to her).

Uh, email me? spelledouttofoolspammers_robtaylor231atcomcastdotnet...

I am fully open, as I am currently jobless. Although I will be unavailable Friday for a few hours. My Truck is a Ford Ranger 2000 XLT Sidestep. I can move and lift most heavy things as needed. I have lots of rope, bungies and some straps. I am usually pretty good at organizing stuff in the bed of the truck.

we will more than likely be doing this in the evenings as I have to be there (FCBW shit grr) in person for all of it and I am working the next two days. We may have stuff going on during the day on thursday or friday, but I do not know yet. I will keep you posted. We are trying to get a handle on who to call on for what right now. But knowing you work graveyard helps a lot. What time do you need to head off to work, and how early in teh evening/afternoon do/can you be up?

Ihave a drivers liscense, a really flexible massage job and am able to steal Jims production Xtera if need be. I am a stage manager, stage hand, and housecleaner. I'm also a childhood veteran of the Cold War, and after looking down the barrel of an uzi on the way to sunday school I'm pretty good at the "act now, cry later" thing.

Massage? you know... if you are willing, those of us that are really handling the brunt of this are pretty stressed and could maybe use quick shoulder rubs if you are amenable to helping out in this way... We can certainly use help in a lot of areas.

Thanks!!!

Stax,

I'm currently pretty slammed at work, and I'm reasonably confident you'll have enough people to do this. BUT:

my # is 206-227-1294 (cel, always on, leave a VM if i don't answer for some reason). I work 9-6 and we're in crunch/release mode, so i'm working more of a 9-whenever schedule this week/next week. I've got a car, I'm good at packing, I'm a good cleaner, and so forth.

Basically, I am assuming you'll have plenty of people to help, so I marked down "i wish i had the time". But if you do NOT have enough people, call me and I'll make the time.

I didn't put myself down for heavy lifting, because I'm not good with that much weight right now - but I can do medium-weight in great quantity. I'm relentless and tireless as an ant, so add me to the swarm. I also want to help deflect bad vibes from the FCBW. ~<@>~ And if the need shifts, I can also fill in as an extra story-reader for the kids in resting mode.

I get off at 8 on Wednesday, 6 on Thursday, and Friday's all open. Saturday's a big wedding. Sunday's all open. Monday off at 5. Just put out the call, I'm 15 minutes away.
