Looks like it's been taken care of already. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/10/1/135446/991 and http://politics.slashdot.org/politics/04/10/01/1951213.shtml?tid=226
The part that angers me is not only they made this mistake, but when they "corrected" it --- they didn't announce it in the paper until an LJ user screamed about it loudly enough.
Whether it was 10 or 1000 ballots --- by not calling attention to this, they set up a situation where some group of people could have their vote not counted, or seriously questioned, because they weren't warned.
How many people really check the alignment on their ballots? Most people would expect they *wouldnt* have to.
I'm just angry there wasn't an announcement from the company owning up to the mistake --- rather than playing games with someone's vote being counted

Exactly....sarmonster posted a link to a scan of the ballot indicating it was messed up but not specifying how, and until I saw the post linked above, I couldn't spot the problem. Only Bush voters would have noticed; most Kerry voters would have likely cast their vote incorrectly without even realizing it.
