If you aren't part of a long term relationship with someone, USE SOME FUCKING COMMON SENSE AND USE A GODDAMN CONDOM. People could have STDs and not even KNOW IT. Don't be FUCKING STUPID. Don't risk your life for little heightened sensation.

and guys, if you just can't keep it up with a fucking condom on, LEARN TO LOVE MASTURBATION. Likewise, if you aren't using condoms because the church says NO, then you shouldn't be having PREMARITAL SEX either. THE REASON THAT NEITHER MY SISTER NOR I EVER GOT TO MEET OUR OWN FATHER IS THAT HE DIED OF AIDS A FEW YEARS BEFORE WE WERE OLD ENOUGH TO HUNT HIM DOWN OURSELVES.

And yeah, I know a couple of the people on my friends list have Aids. And yeah, several other friends of mine outside LJ have Aids. And no, I don't.

Right on. You've said exactly what I've thought, and said to many friends. Instead of STDs, they end up with kids and with two exceptions, no longer friends of mine. Their loss, my relief.

Exceptions being my absolute best friend from childhood who has three and is happily married and still completely in love with their Daddy. And another good friend who went about the whole love-marriage-kid thing traditionally, even if the kid was an oops.

As a fervent condom user, i don't *stop* using them in relationships until 1)we have *both* decided and agreed upon doing so and 2)get *all* appropriate tests (with negative results) done before engaging in condom free sex.
No condom? No sex. You're out.
I have no desire to acquire fuck trophies in the forms of small parasitic humans or life threatening viruses.

see, that's the problem... what if you *are* involved in an LTR with someone, and you believe them to be faithful, and they aren't.

I think that this is not always the case, really. There are those who *are* faithful.

And, considering how much polyamory there is around us, there are those who are *thoughtful* as well and always use condoms when they have extra curricular fun.

It is hard to know who to trust and when. But it is possible. *hugs* Not everyone is lying bastard. :)

It's really my only option at this time, because I can't tolerate the hormones in birth control pills/patch/shot/whatever anymore. I feel I'm incredibly lucky to have caught absolutely nothing at all, not even HVP, in my early years (late 80s) when everyone expected that you were on the pill and no one really thought to use a condom. Soooo lucky.
