*mmmm* that's better
Nov. 1st, 2002 09:52 pmI am thinking a Bubble Bath next...
I have had my homemade stew and a rootbeer float (dryers vanilla... mmm)
some video game time, some minor TV time... rescheduled the one thing I *did* want to do tonight for Sunday (YAY).
and now..
2 lbs beef stew meat.. (MEAT!) cut into bite sized pieces
1/2 lb baby red potatoes cut into bite sized pieces
1/2 lb baby carrots cut into bit sized pieces
one large bottle of Guinness dark ale
1/4 cup garlic mush
3 tbls liquid au jus concentrate
2 tbls oregano
2 tbls basil
1 tbls sage
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
Brown the meat, toss into a large pot with the rest of the ingredients, cook over medium heat until the potatoes are tender -- thicken with a roux (in a skillet melt 2 tsp *butter* and 3 tbls flour and blend thoroughly, add in stew moisture 1/4 at a time to skillet while whisking briskly to blend, continue to add liquid until the roux mixture is pourable then add to stew pot, stir to mix through and stir over heat until it achieves the desired thickness).
mmmm mmm good. I serve it with potato dinner rolls.
